Overview
Homey country cottage set on beautiful Victorian bushland. The local Blacksmith’s Cottage has been revitalised and repurposed as a cosy holiday retreat in regional Victoria. With 3 bedrooms, serviced by 1 bathroom, the property can accommodate up to 6 guests.
The Space
Refurbished, Blacksmith’s Cottage is now bright, airy and comfortable. The interior spaces are kept feeling open with a palette of crisp whites and light browns. Flooring is mainly light hardwood, while the lounge and bedrooms are carpeted. The twin gabled ceilings are done in rich wood panelling, bringing a touch more colour to the rooms.
In the living room, windows look out into the bush, filling the space with natural light. A plush couch faces the log fire, which is set in a traditional brick fireplace, its mantel topped with native flowers and small ornaments. Set some delicious food on the low coffee table and relax on a cold night with the fire crackling away in front of you.
The kitchen is outfitted with high quality Smeg appliances to accommodate your every culinary need. Speckled stone bench tops and white cabinets play well with the sunlight streaming in through the two large windows, also with views of the thick tree line. A small table in the centre is perfect for a quick breakfast. The dining room offers a more substantial, rustic table with bench-style seating. Outside, a modest deck boasts a lovely outdoor setting, perfect for sharing a meal on a sunny day.
The bedrooms are comfortable and functional. Across the three rooms, lodgers will find 1 queen bed, 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed. Bedspreads, furniture and decorations in these rooms are elegant and understated.
Location
Situated in Lyonville, the cottage is just a short walk away from the Radio Springs Hotel. Nearby, Daylesford proper waits with plenty to explore. The famous Botanic Gardens with its extinct volcano, Lake Daylesford and Convent Gallery are great places to start. Blacksmith’s Cottage provides an idyllic country getaway without sacrificing the comforts of home.
