Large country lodge tucked away on private Australian bushland. Lodgers are invited to enjoy a staggering 44 acres of grassy pasture, dotted with the majestic gum trees that give this property its name. As many as 12 guests can call The Gums home, offering a tranquil retreat from the anxieties of everyday life.
Cosy, thoughtfully designed interiors prioritise comfort while maintaining a high standard of appearance. There are two separate lounges at either end of the home, kitted out with TVs, coonara heaters and soft couches. French doors and large windows offer views of the surrounding property, allowing natural light to fill both spaces. The kitchen, adjacent to the dining area, offers everything you’ll need to cook that delicious holiday food. A firewood store sits along one wall. The dark wood dining table can seat a full house, perfect for sharing meals and spending time together.
The home’s five bedrooms collectively offer 4 king split beds, and 2 sets of single bunks. Soft brown tones and mellow whites lend these rooms a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. Split-system heating and cooling allow for year-round temperature regulation.
The spacious deck area boasts an outdoor setting with a gas barbeque, overlooking the rolling grasses and spectacular gums. Also great for kids, this area is ideal for entertaining on summer days and warm nights. The grounds also feature a barn area, repurposed for entertainment and relaxation. Another woodfire coonara and more seating arrangements make for a warm, multi-purpose space.
Far from isolated, this regional getaway sits just fifteen minutes outside lively Daylesford by car. A jaunt into the bustling town centre is the perfect complement to an otherwise serene holiday.
