"I had the BEST weekend at Wombats Edge with my family and friends! We stayed 3 nights and all wanted to try and fight host Pete for squatters rights - none of us wanted to leave. We all jumped in the lake for a swim and took advantage of the row boat and kayak/canoe, went for a ride on the provided bikes, played lots of backyard cricket and made friends with the horse next door. I will recommend Wombat Edge to everyone I know and will definitely be returning for another visit."

One of best places we have stayed. A very clean and spacious house with awesome grounds. The garden is amazing with so much to offer. We loved the canoe and daily visits from various wildlife. Thank you for making your home available for guests to enjoy."

Great location with access to some lovely walking. The property itself is idyllic- very tranquil. All amenities one could need are on offer and the house was spotless and very well maintained.

It is a beautiful house full with details. quiet lake area is so unique and peaceful for a city escape. the house is extremely clean and full with all the amenities we need. highly recommend for someone love painting and writing, just stay couple of days and you can find out inner peace and a lot of inspirations. many thanks again definitely come back next time!

Photos don’t do justice. The inside is very spacious with plenty of room. The yard space is massive with a lake and a boat. I would definitely recommend this place. The host is super responsive and helpful.

Unbelievable accommodation, we were blown away by the property as soon as we drove in! It had everything we could have dreamed of. The stay was beyond comfortable and had plenty to keep us occupied even with the very average weather we had. Would recommend staying here any day!

Our family holiday at Wombat Edge was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were most impressed with the attention to detail and quality throughout, from the bed linen and towels, to the beautiful artwork, book collections and furniture. We were welcomed by a blazing and inviting fire on a cold winter’s day, and appreciated the plentiful supply of firewood – including provision for the outside fire pit - which saw us easily through our stay. Bedding options were flexible and perfect for our group, and each room of the home comes with everything you’d need to make the most out of your holiday – like the fully fitted-out kitchen with coffee options to last for days, a handy second drinks fridge and a full laundry with ample supplies. We loved enjoying Wombat Edge’s beautiful outside surrounds as much as getting comfortable inside, and made the most of the property’s lake, kayak, boat, basketball half-court, bikes, firepit, alfresco area and wandering around the property, taking in the sights and sounds of native wildlife and the well-considered landscaped gardens complete with handcrafted art works. Lyonville really turned it on for our stay and we were able to enjoy some sunny (but chilly!) days and nights exploring the neighbourhood. Special thanks to the owner who arranged for a left-behind item to be personally delivered to us back in Melbourne after our stay – we were most appreciative! Highly recommend Wombat Edge for your next central Victorian getaway.

Wow, we were literally all lost for words when we checked in. One of the best places I have stayed in. No pictures or words could justify just how beautiful and cozy it is. There is so much to do, we didn’t feel like leaving. A massive plus also were the beds, they were so comfortable. Also the house was sparkling clean. Will definitely be back.

We had the most wonderful stay at Wombat Edge Lyonville. The house is sparkling clean, stylish and very comfortable for a large family. With so many amenities and thoughtful touches it definitely felt like a home away from home. Views from every room of the house are stunning and the private lake was an absolute highlight with swimming and canoeing each day. We booked for 2 nights and could easily have stayed for a week and not left the property. It's a very special place and our stay was just perfect.

Wombat Edge is a beautiful location with all the amenities you could possibly ask for from a fully functional indoor fireplace to a exquisite lake with kayaks and rowboats to go with it. A truly exceptional location and would highly recommend to any groups that are looking to relax and enjoy the countryside.

Wow!!!! We booked this place not fully realising how amazing it was going to be. On arrival I honestly could have cried.. a bit dramatic I know but with 5 kids, the youngest being 5 month old twins.., and the past few months being housebound with all the covid issues this couldn’t have been more perfect. My hubby said the lake and the boat reminded him of the scene from The Notebook .. lol. The extra little cabin which is separate from the house is a cute point of difference. My 12 year old absolutely loved the canoe! The HUGE comfy (non leather) couch is the reason I actually booked this place. Most other places have a tiny cold leather couch, not something I would like with my big family. There is a cupboard full of games so don’t pack any! A kids lounge area, books all around the home If you like reading, a Basketball court. Kangaroos greeted us daily at dusk and dawn. I could go on and on.. don’t look through anymore options just book this place!! We will definitely book this place again! I wish it was mine!!

Do yourself a favour and take the trip to wombat edge, backing off a national park it really does feel like you are in your own little oasis. With a large lake to play on, plenty of fire places, king beds and a kitchen that will make a chef happy you all the luxuries to have an amazing weekend away with some friends or family are there. This one is a must in my opinion.

Our family had a wonderful long weekend at Wombat Edge. We arrived to a beautifully clean and welcoming home. Little lamps and cosy rugs in every room. It made for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The owners had thought of everything from games to books, bikes, cricket bats, tennis rackets and even a canoe and little boat to use on the lake. The surrounding gardens were wonderfully kept. We didn’t see our children for most of the day on Saturday as they had so many things to keep them active outside including a basketball ring! The love is definitely in the detail and that’s what you get when you stay at Wombat Edge. Thankyou!

Beautiful property in a picturesque part of Victoria. Lovely touches and very clean house. Kitchen is fantastic and the row boat and kayak are great bonuses! Sensational place!
